Marking VJ Day

Today marks 80 years since VJ Day - the end of the war in the Far East. I attended my local service to pay respects to those who served and to the civilians who endured so much, from Britain and the Commonwealth to Singapore, Indonesia and across Asia. With Singaporean and Indonesian Chinese roots, this remembrance is deeply personal. We will remember them.
