About Jackson

I was first elected as the councillor for Beaconsfield on Buckinghamshire Council in 2021, and I am serving my second term after being re-elected in May 2025. My responsibilities include:

• Chairman, Finance & Resources Select Committee, scrutinising a £577 million annual budget on behalf of more than 570,000 residents across Buckinghamshire, including in Beaconsfield.
• Member, Growth, Infrastructure and Housing Select Committee, scrutinising major infrastructure projects, local-plan delivery and strategic housing policy.
• Member, East & South Buckinghamshire Area Planning Committee, determining applications affecting some 160,000 residents across the east and south of the county.

I previously chaired the Standards and General Purposes Committee, where I helped improve transparency in the council, and I served on the Strategic Sites Committee and the Finance & Resources Select Committee.

I am a proud former Mayor of Beaconsfield (2023/24) and Deputy Mayor (2022/23), and I have sat on Beaconsfield Town Council since 2017, serving on all of its committees: Finance, Planning, and Communities & Safety.

In elected office I have consistently fought for local residents: successfully challenging inappropriate development on our Green Belt, pushing for fair council tax policies, improving public safety, seeking better road maintenance and pressing for action against fly-tipping.

Professionally, I am a barrister and partner at a global law firm, focusing on civil and commercial litigation. From 2011 to 2017 I worked in the Houses of Parliament as a political adviser, in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an accredited mediator, and was previously a senior executive at a global consulting firm, advising C-suite executives on geopolitics and corporate reputation.

Since 2013 I have held elected and appointed positions within the Conservative Party, including as a parliamentary candidate at the 2015 and 2017 general elections. In Beaconsfield I was Deputy Chairman (Political) of Beaconsfield Constituency Conservative Association from 2017 to 2018 and its Chairman from 2019 to 2021. I was also Deputy Director of the Conservative Policy Forum and Director of the Conservative Friends of the Chinese.

I am often described as a British Chinese politician, but my heritage is richer than any one label: my father is Singaporean Chinese and my mother is of Dutch, Indonesian and Chinese heritage.

Fluent in four languages, I bring an international perspective from living in Singapore, Australia and the Netherlands.
