Why I oppose the M40 data centre

A data centre campus with its own gas-fired energy centre is being proposed on the old Wapseys Wood landfill, between the A40 and the M40, between Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross.
I oppose it. It would bring round-the-clock noise, gas burning next to our homes, years of construction lorries on roads that are already full, and the loss of open Green Belt land, all for very few local jobs.
Because it is being treated as nationally significant infrastructure, the Secretary of State will decide, not Buckinghamshire Council. I have pressed the council at committee on what it will put to Whitehall on our behalf, and I will keep doing so.
The developer's consultation closes on 27 October 2026: read their plans and give your feedback.
